  • Email Address
  • Optional: Organization name, phone number

  • Environmental data (such as environmental noise or other sensor readings)

2. How We Collect Information
We collect information:

  • Directly from you when you register an account, configure settings, or contact us.
  • Automatically from the MERMAID device during normal operation.
  • Optionally to the cloud if you enable cloud transmission in your settings.

If cloud transmission is enabled, your data is transferred over a secure connection and stored on MERMAID’s cloud infrastructure. We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration.
No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information.

5. Data Sharing
We may share your information with:

  • Third-party data analytics providers to help us understand and improve usage patterns.
  • Cloud hosting companies to store and process data.
  • Customer support providers to assist with troubleshooting and service requests

We reserve the right to sell anonymized data collected from MERMAID devices for research, analytics, or commercial purposes. This data cannot reasonably be used to identify you.

We do not sell your identifiable personal information without your consent.

As we operate in the United States, Canada, and Europe, your data may be transferred to and stored in jurisdictions outside your country of residence. We comply with applicable laws regarding cross-border data transfers, including the GDPR for European users.
